Peter W. Reed is a self taught artist. Born to Lancastrian mother and Yorkshire father he grew up in semi-rural environment with his elder brothers. A family man, he served a considerable number of years as both a town and a country bobby. He has a vast experience of life as policeman and then latterly as a businessman. He has seen life's rich tapestry of happiness, sadness, grief, joy and all the other emotions.
His naive work is inspired by these experiences and is reflected in his work in which these memories are depicted. His unique style is shown
in his landscapes. He has solo exhibitions at Littleborough Coach House, Portfolio, Platform1, Littleborough Gallery, Blackburn City Galleries and is regular exhibitor at Touchstones in Rochdale. His work is now hung not only here in the UK but also in Holland, Germany, France, Spain, Canada, Australia and many other countries. He well known as "The Policeman Painter"
